U/PROTOTYPING*

At Studio James Brazil, design-research is the pragmatic backbone of the studio, positioning community participation within urban research, coalescing projects to make positive social impacts. The continual experimentation-through-making and designing-through-research, creates an atmosphere of invention and possibility at all project scales. We approach each project as a unique challenge to embrace the complexities of the commons, and embed human experience as memory in the design of meaningful places.

My role during this project was to research, design, and develop the theoretical framework for the U/PROTOTYPING* web page. Through a series of research sprints and design iterations, I was able to design a theoretical framework that reflected the studios ethos that is centered around participatory action research. The theoretical framework is used as an interactive map on the website.
